Pleased to receive your email all the way from Switzerland-real Paradise (But weatherwise & lifestyle, we Californian are cooler). We guess you are Americans reside in Switzerland.
Did you browse to our website "www.Bamboopoles.com"? Yes, we supply genuine Arudinari Amabilis-Tea Stick Bamboo, perfectly good for making good quality of Fly-rods. We wonder if you make average grade, medium or even hi quality of Fly-rods. We can supply average good quality @U$6.25 per pc for 6'. or $8.50 per pc for "Near to Perfect Quality" with minimal defects. If you want us to label the cut into 6' from original length of 12', then, we have to surcharge $1 per cut.
For you, when we have to UPS via Air, we feel, it's better to select the "Near to Perfect grade".
We check with UPS, to find out, we have to use "Air" but the lower rate one, called "Expedited, usually needs 5 business to reach Bern & clear the customs". With 55 lb. in a bale of 20 pc of 6 ft. weigh 55 lb. UPS Air would cost you $235.35 plus $4, Door to door and inclu Swiss Brokage. Duty in Switzerland is not inclu, but, we guess as it is material, usually it's duty free.
So, the air-freight is higher than the Bamboo.
Actually, we could invetigate the use of US Postal Parcel by Surface (Seamail), but, mthey have restictions on the max of parcel dimensions and weight. Moreover, today's Public Holiday (Lurther King's Day), we can't investigate the possibility of sending by Seamail parcel via US Postal Service.l
